Fairy Tale Festival 2025
August 2–3, 2025 · 12 PM to 6 PM each day
On the first weekend of August, the Blühendes Barock transforms into a magical world of experiences. This year, the Fairy Tale Festival revolves around the theme “Biodiversity in Fairy Tales”—a celebration for children, families, and everyone who loves to marvel, play, and explore.
Along fairy tale-inspired settings, creative hands-on activities invite visitors to discover and explore. The large adventure rally with an explorer’s pass leads through the Fairy Tale Garden all the way down to the Pumpkin Meadow. The popular search quiz also requires careful observation. Those who participate actively can look forward to small rewards.

Children can transform into animals, mythical creatures, or fairy tale characters at the face-painting stations. On the Pumpkin Meadow, sports activities with the Barock Volleys and the MHP RIESEN provide fun and movement. Traditional games such as sack races and ring toss complete the range of activities.
A highlight of the festival is the Rapunzel competition held under Emichsburg, organized by age groups. Afterwards, at 4 PM, the grand costume contest takes place, centered on the theme of biodiversity—with imaginative costumes ranging from butterflies to woodland creatures.
Fairy tale treats are also available: Karlshöhe offers sweet specialties and lovingly crafted products made in-house.
Admission is included with the regular garden ticket. Children up to four years old enter for free. Using public transportation is recommended.
